The Village of Hamilton is located in the Town of Hamilton in Madison County in Central New York. It is approximately thirty miles southwest of Utica and forty miles southeast of Syracuse.

Hamilton is perhaps best known as the home of Colgate University, one of the nation’s top liberal arts colleges. Hamilton has an excellent public school, offering grades K through 12, as well as its own hospital, Community Memorial Hospital. The university, hospital and Hamilton Central School are the three largest employers in the village. Hamilton has a fine public library, 24 hour police, ambulance and fire protection, and even a small regional airport. The village sustains an active and popular regional Farmer’s Market.

Hamilton Interfaith Council is a group of local worship communities working together to meet the needs of the local area.
